There are many reasons why seeking traditional therapy may be difficult. There are a variety of anonymous online resources available to help you with some of the issues you may be experiencing.

These informational, support and self-management resources may assist you in understanding and living with your sexual attraction to children and/or your concerns about engaging in illegal behaviour, whether online or offline.

These resources are provided for informational purposes only and we are not endorsing any specific program. You are encouraged to review what these programs offer and the privacy statements on their websites in order make decisions that are best for you.

Dis No

Dis No aims to help adults and adolescents who feel an attraction or sexual fantasies towards children, but who have never committed a sexual offence against a child. They offer free, confidential support via phone (0800 600 400) or email, as well as various resources and documents. The website is in French and is based in Switzerland.

Don’t Offend India

Don’t Offend India assists individuals with a sexual attraction to children or adolescents to receive treatment to improve their quality of life while also ensuring active behaviour control. The program aims to reduce cases of child sexual abuse and viewing of child sexual exploitation material. They offer confidential and free on-site treatment in India in Pune (KEM Hospital Research Centre) and Mumbai (individual therapy). They also offer anonymous support via phone (1-800-123-8905) and email.

Help Wanted

Help Wanted is an online course to provide help to individuals attracted to younger children. Their goal is to provide tools to support your commitment to living a safe, healthy, non-offending life. Five pre-recorded video courses are available. Topics include defining child sexual abuse, disclosure/safety skills, coping with your sexual attraction, self-image and healthy sexuality. You can also access a written transcript of the videos in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Hindi, and Spanish.

This program was developed by Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse, John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and is based in the United States.

PrevenSI

PrevenSI offers guidance and prevention tools to people concerned about their sexual interests or behaviour, as well as for professionals and bystanders. They offer an anonymous helpline (900 440 443) and they can also be reached via chat and email. The website is in Spanish and based in Spain.

This program was developed between Institute of Forensic Psychology, the Intress Institute, and the Ires Foundation.

PrevenTell

PrevenTell is a national helpline for those who feel they have lost control of their sexual behaviour, who are worried about their thoughts and actions, or who are afraid they might hurt themselves or someone else. They offer an anonymous helpline (020 66 77 88) and email support. The website is available in English and Swedish.

The program was developed by ANOVA at the Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden.

Save the Children

Save the Children offers an online self-help guide with modules related to understanding sexuality, sexual interest in children, managing thoughts and sexual interest in children, identifying risks and seeking therapeutic support. The program is available in English and Finnish and is based in Finland.

The self-help guide was produced in collaboration with Save the Children, The Training Institute for Prison and Probation Services and HUH Psychiatry.

Stop It Now! Flanders (Belgium)

Stop It Now! Flanders provides support to people (and their loved ones) concerned about their own sexual feelings or behaviour towards minors. The website offers information, advice and support, including a confidential and anonymous helpline available via phone (0800 200 50), chat and email. There is also a self-management section helping you if you are concerned about your online viewing of child sexual exploitation material. The website is in Dutch.

Stop It Now! Netherlands

Stop It Now! Flanders Netherlands provides support to people (and their loved ones) concerned about their own sexual feelings or behaviour towards minors. The website offers information, advice and support, including a confidential and anonymous helpline available via phone (0800 266 64 36), chat and email. There is also a self-management section if you are concerned about your online viewing of child sexual exploitation material. The website is in Dutch.

Stop It Now! UK & Ireland

Stop It Now! UK & Ireland provides confidential help and support for people concerned about their own thoughts or behaviour, as well as those concerned about the behaviour of another adult or a child. The confidential helpline is available via live chat and secure messaging service. Additional resources are available for people who have been abused and professionals looking for advice or resources.

Stop It Now! US

Stop It Now! US provides support, information, and resources to keep children safe and create healthier communities. They provide direct and confidential help to individuals with questions or concerns about child sexual abuse. Their confidential helpline can be accessed at 1-888-PREVENT, or though their email and chat services. They host an online help centre with a variety of useful information as well as an advice column. Their website has a variety of educational materials for laypeople and professionals to recognize harmful behaviour and how to take action. The website is in English.

Sweet Water Foundation

Sweet Water Foundation operates a free, online, confidential and anonymous service for talking about sex, with a focus on stopping sexual practice which may harm a child. They work with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other adults to learn what can be done to help keep a child safe from sexual harm. They will assist youth and adults who have questions about their sexual thoughts, feelings and behaviours, as well as with people who have abused a child and are worried about offending again. Their services are available via phone (tel:473-800-4444), WhatsApp text and email. Their website is in English and based in Grenada.

Troubled Desire

Troubled Desire is an online self-management program for people who are attracted to children and early adolescents and who may not have the chance to see a therapist. Your sessions are anonymous and confidential and a session ID is created each time you start a new session. You can use this ID to log back in and continue your work. There are sections on the website also for people who might know someone with a sexual interest in children.

The program is available in Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Russian, Turkish, Hindi, and Marathi. This program was developed by the Institute of Sexology and Sexual Medicine at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin in Germany.

Virtuous Pedophiles

Virtuous Pedophiles is a support group for people with pedophilia who are committed to avoiding sexual contact with children. The goal of the organization is to reduce stigma and to provide peer support and information about available resources to help pedophiles lead happy and productive lives. VirPed runs an anonymous message board where users can engage
with others for support.

B4U-ACT

B4U-ACT is a collaborative effort of mental health professionals and people who are attracted to children or adolescents to provide resources for self-identified adults and adolescents who are sexually attracted to children. They educate mental health professionals about approaches to working with this population and educate the public regarding issues faced by these individuals.
